This was a really enjoyable assignment as we could be quite creative with it. I got my friend Sam to be an actor in it and I was on camera mostly. I also got an opportunity to play some drums which was cool. We chose a monologue from Whiplash meaning it was pretty easy to choose an object. A drum kit. What we didn’t realise when we chose this however was how much of a mammoth task it would be. In the end we had well over 100 shots that we needed to edit in not very much time. And we had to try our absolute hardest to get all of the instrument noises synced up with the playing. Another small problem was that our drummer (Sam) was not to the same standard of Jazz drumming as the player in the monologue. So, the drumming doesn’t actually sync up in terms of tempo or what they’re actually playing. Although having said all of this, it still turned out really well. And I think that it was one of the better ones.
